Let It Ride Poker - Aggregate payouts
Many casinos employ a maximum payout limit on winning
hands. A limit of £25000 is typical, but can range
from £10,000 to £100,000 depending on the
casino.
This method of gambling can be deceptive. Although
the casino will allow a player to bet any amount up
to the betting limit (which can often be quite high),
they will limit how much they will pay out if you win.
The aggregate limit should usually be stated clearly
somewhere about the table. If this is not the case,
you should confirm it with the dealer before embarking
on play.
Ignoring this limit could theoretically cost you a
lot of money. Suppose you are playing at a table where
the limit is £25,000 and you place three £10
bets as well as a £1 bonus bet. Suppose you let
your bets ride and draw a royal flush. At odds of 1000-1,
you should win £30,000, plus a £20,000 bonus.
However, out of this £50,000 the casino will take
£25,000. Although a blatant rip off, the casinos
make the rules and all you can do is avoid falling into
the trap.
